How the Weight Loss Planning Calculator Works
It takes approximately 3500 calories of a deficit to lose one pound, so for example if a person’s total goal was to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks, then each week they would have to create a 3500 calorie deficit. That would translate to a daily calorie deficit of approximately 500 (500 x 7 + 3500, that would equal one pound per week!).
